Made it to boulder!
We had a nice and boring trip to Boulder which is just the way I like it. We watched National Treasure 1 and 2 and ate plenty of snacks. Tomorrow we will be leaving for the slopes at 7:45am!

Wow! The Fatheads came in and they're awesome!
I received both the C3P0 and the Woody Fatheads today.  They’re amazing!  I’ve never actually seen one in person before so it’s hard to picture just how big they are until you get one.  Some things that still need to be dealt with are a dresser for the room (Ben Kunz might have one), a TV (anyone?) and an easel for drawing with dry-erase or other non-messy markers.  Oh yeah!  The...

Fatheads for the walls →
The boys love Toy Story, Star Wars and Spiderman, so we thought we would decorate their walls with huge stickers.  Fathead stickers are light on adhesive so they are easily removable.  Most apartments aren’t too thrilled with having their walls painted, so this is a nice way to make their off-white walls into something really amazing. Click on the link and you can check out the C3P0...

Extreme Bedroom Makeover 2
Last fall we helped out a single mom and her daughter by giving the young girl a bedroom makeover.  We also found that the mom needed living room and dining room furniture, so we supplied those also.  We’re ready to do this again, but this time it’s with a mom and her two boys, ages 8 and 6.  Their apartment is fairly well furnished, but there are a number of things we can do for the...

Home, sweet home
We made it back to Lincoln at around 8:45pm. We were hot and tired but glad to see our loved ones and excited to share our stories from our time we spent serving God in the peaches of California

Hail storm in Denver means delays for our return
I went online this morning to print off our boarding passes and found out about a major storm that hit Denver Wednesday night. It damaged dozens of planes and is messing up frontier airlines flights all over the country. As of right now our flight has been delayed by one hour. That means we will probably arrive back in Lincoln around 8:00 pm. I will email all parents and post on this site if...

Day 5 or 6 or something like that
The days are flying by and I’m losing track of how long we’ve been here. Yesterday (Wednesday) was a half day of work. It gives the kids and the staff a break. My family and I joined one of the missionary families to spend the afternoon at a Dutch ladies house where I hugged a monkey and swam in a pond with goats drinking out of it. Pictures will follow. The kids took naps and enjoyed...

Day 4 - just another day of work at gleanings
There wasn’t anything too spectacular going on at gleanings today. It was just a normal day of work. We were able to process a large amount of food as the machines in the plant ran smoothly all day. The kids are starting to discover which areas of work they enjoy most and they are really seeing the joys of serving. It’s a powerful thing to see so many people come together with a...

Day 3 - the first full day of work at gleanings
We had a great first day yesterday. Temps are really nice. Only in the mid-to upper 90s after last week it hit 108. With almost no humidity, were loving the summer weather. We dove into picking up trays of dried peaches from last weeks work, helping in the kitchen, cleaning bathrooms, and of course, plenty of work on the peach processing line. We were able to produce plenty of fruit yesterday...
